Wanzka marks the fifth stop of our small but perfectly formed label’s travels of the German region of
Mecklenburg. This time, we pause for a refreshing break with Dreher&Smart, best known for their
amazing remixes of Depech Mode – “Martyr” and Kollektiv Turmstraße – “Grillen im Park”. Their A-side
“Die Tür” injects a finely honed sense of space with a colourful burst of catchy compositional details
that tell us more about Wanzka than a walk through the town might reveal. On the flipside, Acker
co-labelist Mollono-Bass picks up on the track’s deep, deep groove and takes it on to higher spheres.
Balmy, melodic and carefully crafted, “Die Lauffläche” whisks us away to a freshly ploughed field -
warmed by the gentle rays of the autumn sun.

Ah, so darf man auch Dubtechno machen, denn die fluppsigen Synths da mitten drin sind einfach zum
schreien und nehmen dieses besserwisserische Dumpfbackendeepgefühl aus dem Track wie nix. Ein
Cowboytrack, dieses “Die Tür”, Armadillofiebersound, Killersporentechno. Was soll man sagen, nach
dem Track würde ich sogar einen Kaktus heiraten. Der Remix kommt da nicht ran, aber die duffte
Technoaufwindnummer “Lauffläche” ist ein perfekter Partner in Crime. Eine Platte, die hoffentlich
ihren Platz ganz oben auf dem Sattel der DJ-Charts finden wird, wie es sich für eine solche
Ausnahmehitscheibe gehört.
